We have been going to Bass Lake since 1979 and my children and grandchilden will not go any place else. They love it! The Wishon house is like their own as they grew up going their. My two grandsons will not trade any other place for vacation they are now 21 yrs.

We've stayed at same cabin for 20 years. Although old, we love location and have made many great memories at Bass Lake.
We have stayed in the Wishon Cabin for a good 15 years. Location great, old house so don't expect too much. Wouldn't stay any other place! :)

We have been staying at the Wishon house for 19 years. Love the house and the view from the deck. Not alot of amenities, which is OK. One recommendation, add internet service to their cable service for the summer months.

The Wishon cabin is rustic and has a lot of charm and history. The location could not be better on the lake and for our family with children. Our dissatifaction comes with the lack of maitainence on the home and the lack of cleanliness. For over $3000 a week you would think they could afford to keep the home in better repair (we have two carpenters in the family who cannot help but notice what needs to be done) and at least clean. I started scrubbing cupboards this year to get off the layers of black grime from years of neglect. Even those from housekeeping who we pay $90 to clean don't do anything about the deep cleaning that is needed. The vacuums don't pick up much so one can imagine what is in the carpet. The sofa and chairs are badly faded, and losing support. The beds are comfortable except for the ones in the sun room, which lack support for sleeping. It is rustic and comfortable and we like that but there is no excuse for the lack of cleanliness.
I will commend them on the new dock they finally put in a year or so ago and this year with the water down for dam repairs they put in a well done new sea wall as the old one was eroded terribly and ready to collapse. It is a beautiful old cabin with a lot of charm and I am hoping that these new repairs indicate that they are going to take better care and pride in the home of their ancestors. We have been going to the Wishon cabin for about 9 years now and the whole family loves our time there, it always goes too quickly.
